Two Gville agencies assist in Athens drug investigation; 6 arrests

Six people were arrested on drug and weapons charges recently following a multi-agency investigation that included officers from Homeland Security Investigations Gainesville and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

ATHENS-CLARKE CO. POLICE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE (ACCPD):

“On May 16th, 2024, ACCPD participated in a multi-agency drug investigation resulting in the execution of several search warrants in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia.

During the search warrant, approximately 35 kilograms of cocaine, 5 pounds of methamphetamine, 1 kilogram of fentanyl, 1 kilogram of heroin, 19 firearms were seized. Of the firearms, two pistols were modified with switches that enable automatic fire…

Three suspects were taken into custody and charged with “Trafficking Illegal Drugs” at the time of the search warrants: Luis Reyes-Juarez of Athens, GA, 23, Luis Angel Campuzano of Athens, GA, 22, and Edwin Rolando Chavez of Athens, GA, 22….
