Summer hasn’t officially arrived and here we are with a story about firewood.
That’s because the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) office in Gainesville has announced that firewood permits for the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest are now available for purchase through a new online E-Permit system. Permits may be purchased by computer or mobile device at any time and eliminates traveling to a USFS office.
To purchase a firewood permit or to learn more about permits and gathering firewood, visit the USDA Forest Service E-Permit website. Firewood permits will still be available to purchase at local Forest Service offices and participating vendors.
