8:30 P.M. TUESDAY JACKSON EMC NEWS RELEASE:
Jackson EMC is experiencing 247 outages affecting 14,641 members across our service area. A line of strong thunderstorms moved through the area this evening, bringing high winds and heavy rainfall that caused damage to our distribution system.
We recognize the inconvenience of being without power and sincerely appreciate our members’ patience. Jackson EMC crews continue to work diligently to restore outages as quickly as conditions and safety procedures allow. To support restoration efforts, we have brought in additional contract crews who are working alongside our linemen to address each outage as quickly as possible.
As of 8:30 p.m. we have outages affecting members in the following counties:

Gwinnett – 3,509
Barrow – 1,724
Jackson – 1,276
Madison – 429
Banks – 270
Lumpkin – 53
White – 2
Clarke – 7
