UPDATE: 20+ roads closed

9:30 p.m.: HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) FACEBOOK POST:

“The Hall County Sheriff’s Office urges caution on the north end of the county in the aftermath of storms that moved across the area earlier this afternoon. 

More than 20 roads are currently blocked with downed trees, and many of those involve downed power lines. The Chestatee Road area was particularly hard hit. 

HCSO deputies, along with County Public Works crews, are working to clear blockages…”

8:00 p.m.: FROM HALL CO. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY & HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTOR ZACH BRACKETT:

“Hall County is currently managing approximately 30 trees down, multiple transformer fires, and a residential fire. We are still receiving calls for service into 911 as citizens exit their homes and find issues.”
