Though spring is still officially about a month away and winterlike weather is expected to return to our area this week, spring cleanups are on the minds of some people already.
For instance, Flowery Branch has issued an appeal for volunteers to help with some spring cleaning there. “We need high schoolers, neighborhoods, churches, and clubs to join us for a community-wide cleanup as part of Keep America Beautiful!” a Facebook post reads. The date is March 1. Click here to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F45AAA82FA1FEC16-54945794-flowery
Just a few miles down the road, plans are in place for a similar event in Braselton on March 29. To volunteer, sign up here: Braselton Community Cleanup T Shirt – Formstack
And registration has opened for the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s 15th annual Sweep the Hooch cleanup of the Chattahoochee River from its headwaters in Helen through Lake Lanier and Atlanta to Columbus. The date is March 22, and you can register here: Sweep the Hooch – Chattahoochee Riverkeeper
