Ribbon-cutting planned for $14M S. Hall sewer project

The ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Friendship Road sewer extension project has been rescheduled for June 17, at 2:30 at Williams Mill Greenspace in Flowery Branch

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to reschedule the initial ribbon cutting ceremony, but I assure you, we are excited and look forward to celebrating a project that serves thousands of existing residents, businesses and the future growth of the South Hall area,” District 1 Commissioner Kathy Cooper said.

The sewer extension includes an additional 5.2 miles of sewer lines, incorporating 3.2 miles of gravity lines and 2.0 miles of force main lines traveling along the Friendship Road corridor. These sewer lines serve the Mitchell Creek Basin area along the Hall County and Gwinnett County line.

The ceremony, which will be held at 6166 Blackjack Road is open to the public.

The budget for the Friendship Road sewer extension project was $13.9 million and funded by Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) VIII and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
