Just when you may have been getting used to the sunshine again, here comes a forecast of more rain.
“With a weak low pressure system just off the south Atlantic coast, chances for showers and thunderstorms will be spreading from south to north,” the National Weather Service (NWS) says. “Storms will be most likely in the afternoon (today) through Friday. Storms are forecast to be more numerous on Saturday and Sunday ahead of a frontal boundary.”
The low pressure system is not, however, likely to turn into a tropical depression or tropical storm.”
The return of the clouds and rain means we shouldn’t have to worry too much about the smoke from the Canadian wildfires that has been filtering into the Southeast this week. Impact on our air quality has been minimal anyway because it has remained so high in the atmosphere.
