Hall County Parks and Leisure invites residents to the second public input meeting for the South Hall Active Life Center and Park May 21 5:30-7:30 at the Spout Springs Library. But county officials already have an idea what the public wants.
The meeting will be held in an open house, drop-in format, so that attendees can come and go at their convenience. There will be no formal presentation; however, the public will have an opportunity to review the current conceptual plans, which were developed based on extensive feedback gathered during the first public meeting and through online participation. Additionally, representatives from Hall County Parks and Leisure and Lose Design, the design firm leading the project, will be available for one-on-one conversations throughout the evening.
“The input we’ve received so far has been clear and consistent,” District 1 Commissioner Kathy Cooper said. “Residents want a space that encourages outdoor activity, family connection and community gathering – and that’s exactly what this plan is designed to offer.”
High-interest amenities based on community feedback include paved walking trails, hiking trails and pickleball courts. The community center, complete with basketball gyms, meeting rooms and fitness areas, remains a core component of the plan. Additionally, the community has expressed strong interest in the inclusion of aquatics, and the meeting will provide insight into how Hall County may consider this element in future phases.
