Parking in handicapped zone leads to drug trafficking charges

Two people have been charged with trafficking in illegal drugs after a Braselton police officer stopped to investigate a car that was parked in a handicapped space. The suspects were arrested by Hall County sheriff’s deputies who were executing Braselton arrest warrants in Hall County.

BRASELTON POLICE DEPT. NARRATIVE:

“Our officers got out with a black vehicle at the Texaco gas station on Spout Springs Road as it was parked in the handicap parking space for over an hour.  The vehicle operator refused to cooperate and our K9 officer utilized his K9 to conduct a…search of the vehicle.

After the positive alert for narcotics, the vehicle was then towed from the location and a search warrant for the vehicle was obtained. 

Upon executing the search warrant for the vehicle, approximately 1.3 pounds of marijuana, 2 ounces of Methamphetamines and 16 grams of Cocaine (were found).  Once the search was completed, the officer obtained warrants for the two individuals that were operating the vehicle during the time of the encounter.”

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported Tuesday morning that its deputies arrested the suspects Monday morning on Cherokee Ford. Donna Michelle Kitchens, 45, is facing several charges related to the possession, manufacture, distribution/trafficking, and sell of marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine. Brandon Crayton Fascilla, 38, faces similar charges but only as they related to marijuana and cocaine. Both were still in the Hall County Jail late Tuesday morning.)
