In just a couple of months, the newest tower at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville will open its doors. And an open house is planned to give the public a preview of the 11-story, 927,000- square-foot addition.
Here’s what’s included: the new location of the emergency department, dedicated heart care floors provided by Georgia Heart Institute, 150 additional inpatient beds, a new café, new greenspace, a helipad atop the tower, and parking deck with more than 450 parking spaces for patients, visitors and staff.
The open house is scheduled for Feb. 1, one week before the new tower officially opens. Hospital officials say more details about the event will be announced later.
