An Atlanta woman was being held in the Hall County Jail without bond late Thursday afternoon following her arrest a few days ago at an Oakwood pharmacy while, according to Oakwood Police, she was trying to get a forged prescription filled. And Det. Lt. Stewart Webb says she’s apparently been making the rounds in north Georgia with fake prescriptions – and this was not the first time she’s stopped in Okwood.
OAKWOOD P.D. NEWS RELEASE:
“On (May 25), officers were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy (on McEver Road) in reference to fraud.
Upon arrival, the pharmacist told officers that a female had come to this location and attempted to obtain medication using a counterfeit prescription. The pharmacist checked with every pharmacy in Oakwood and found that they had filled counterfeit prescriptions for this female. The name on the prescription was flagged and the pharmacist immediately called 911.
The female left the location prior to officers’ arrival at the location.
Detective Earle followed up on this report and was able to identify a suspect by using the identification that she had previously presented to the pharmacy.
He found that she was traveling all over the metro area filling prescriptions by using stolen identities and counterfeit prescriptions forms.
(Five days later) Detective Earle was checking the Oakwood Publix Shopping Center for the suspect’s vehicle. He noticed a vehicle in the parking lot that appeared to match his suspect’s vehicle ‘based off a missing bumper.’
A few minutes later this store called Detective Earle and confirmed that she was inside trying to fill in another counterfeit prescription.
The suspect was taken into custody and subsequently transported to the Hall County Jail on the listed charges.
This investigation is ongoing with the possibility of additional charges being obtained on the suspect…”
