A dispute between an alleged prostitute and her customer ended in her reported rape – and a jail cell for the alleged rapist, according to Oakwood Police.
OAKWOOD P.D. NEWS RELEASE:
“On 03/04/25 at approximately 1130 hours, Oakwood Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Acorn Dr/Thurmon Tanner Pkwy Oakwood, GA 30566, in reference to a 911 call of a possible attempted rape by force with a handgun. Upon arrival, officers checked the area and did not locate any victims, witnesses, and/or a crime scene in the area.
Oakwood PD CID was notified and began checking into the 911 call. Detective B. Earle eventually located the adult female victim at a motel in Gwinnett County. The female victim told Detective Earle that she had went to John Clarke’s residence to have sex for money. The victim became afraid, changed her mind, and told Mr. Clarke to stop. Mr. Clarke refused to stop and held the victim down on the bed.
The victim was able to grab a taser from her purse, Mr. Clarke produced a handgun and demanded that she return his money.
The victim was able to call 911 and had the speaker on. Once Mr. Clarke overheard the 911 dispatcher on the phone, He let the victim leave and left the area right after her.
On 03/07/2025 at 0730 hours, Detective Earle obtained arrest warrants for Mr. Clarke and was able to quickly take him into custody during a traffic stop. See the Hall County Jail for charge details.
The Oakwood Police Department’s “Criminal Investigations Division” immediately executed a search warrant at Mr. Clarke’s residence on Acorn Drive to search for additional evidence related to this investigation.
John Clarke(53) is a resident of Oakwood Georgia.

Hall County Jail records show that as of early Friday evening he was being held without bond on attempted rape, aggravated assault, and two weapons charges.
