The Dahlonega Planning Commission (DPC) will hold a public hearing July 1 regarding a rezoning request that, subject to final approval by the city council, would clear the way for a resort spa in the city.
Baldr Capital, LLC, is seeking to rezone from PUD (Planned Unit Development District Conditional) to B-2 (Highway Business District) 20 acres on Summit Drive.
According to documents on file with the city, the plans for the tract are a “Nordic-style resort spa (indoor/outdoor wellness facilities) with retail and food service.”
What is a Nordi-style spa? canada.com describes it this way: Nordic spas offer a style of hydrotherapy that’s been popular in Scandinavia for generations. The belief is that taking your body from extremely hot to extremely cold temperatures can strengthen your immune system, purify your body, and help soothe various aches and pains. You sweat, you shiver, and your body thanks you for it.
