Warmer-than-normal temperatures are expected across the country this summer, according to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).
●With odds favoring a warmer-than normal summer combined with either equal chances for above/near/or below normal precipitation to drier-than normal conditions, drought persistence is favored as is some new drought development across much of the Central, Northern and High Plains. For the most part, states east of the Mississippi are expected to remain drought-free.
●The summer outlook calls for equal chances of above/near/or below normal rainfall across the eastern half of Central Region with the forecast leaning drier-than normal across the Rockies and much of the Plains.
