NGMC Barrow staff members named Paramedic, EMT of the Year

With more than 50 years of combined experience, two Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Barrow staff members were recognized at the recent Northeast Georgia Region 10 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director’s Association Awards Banquet for their work in the field.

Carli Cuendet was awarded Paramedic of the Year while Bob Fisher was awarded Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) of the Year.

Cuendet has been a paramedic for 28 years, and is currently working out of Auburn, Georgia. She’s been with NGMC for three years and enjoys training new paramedics and EMTs who join her team.

Fisher shares the same excitement for the job. He’s been an EMT for 27 years and works out of Statham. He has also been with NGMC for three years.

Shortly after NGMC Barrow joined Northeast Georgia Health System in 2017, the hospital reached an agreement with Barrow County to let the hospital handle all ambulance transports in the county. Since then, NGMC Barrow has continued to provide emergency care, surgery, orthopedics, heart care, imaging/radiology, laboratory services, pulmonary rehabilitation, wound healing, stroke care and more to the Barrow community. It was recently recognized as the state’s Small Hospital of the Year by the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals.
