The Gainesville-based Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) has new and expanded outreach programs for people in need. The initiative is aimed at supporting pet owners saddled with homelessness, poverty, etc.
The focus is on increasing access to veterinary care, food, and education.
Among the new and expanded services:
- Mobile veterinary care
- Support for homeless pet owners
- Free pet food distribution
- Youth education
Additionally, HSNEGA will host a free or low-cost community vaccine clinic for dogs on Saturday at Lakeshore Mall 10:00-2:00. Services will be free for Hall County residents. The cost will be $25 for all others.
Offerings will include rabies and DHPP vaccines, deworming, and microchipping. A similar event is planned for cats later in the year.
