New Commerce police chief has Gville ties

Jeff Drossman is the new Commerce Police Chief, having has been sworn in by Judge Billy Chandler. Chief Drossman is a 20-year veteran of law enforcement work.

He has served with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Auburn and Monroe Police Departments. Throughout his career, he has held supervisory and leadership roles across a range of areas, including uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, jail bureau operations, and specialized units.

In addition to his professional experience, Chief Drossman holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and has earned numerous managerial and supervisory certifications through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (GA POST).
