Voters in the affected area have approved creation of a new city in Gwinnett County that would be located near the Hall County line.
The referendum calling for incorporation of the City of Mulberry passed with 57% of the vote.
Those who had been pushing for its creation say they hope to have it up and running by the end of the year.
Mulberry will be Gwinnett’s second largest city with 41,000 people.
