Mass murder suspect arrested in Banks Co.

For the second time in a matter of weeks, a murder suspect from another jurisdiction has been arrested in Banks County.

Banks County sheriff’s officers and federal agents captured a man wanted in connection with a mass murder in Mexico. Juan Carbajal Montes was wanted by INTERPOL at the request of the Mexican government.

In a social media post, authorities gave no details about Montes’ arrest or the incident he’s believed to have been involved in. An Internet search turned up on information on any mass killing in Mexico that mentioned him.

Agents who assisted Banks County deputies in his capture came from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Atlanta, the U.S. Marshals Service, and Immigration and Customs (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).

Late last month, a man wanted for murder in Columbus was arrested by a Banks County sheriff’s deputy. EARLIER STORY. POSTED APRIL 29: Columbus murder suspect arrested in Banks Co.
