*(GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – The Georgia Department of Agriculture reassures consumers that Georgia Grown cucumbers are safe and not affected by a recent recall following a Salmonella outbreak. The recalled veggies were produced by Bedner Growers, Inc. At least 26 people have fallen ill in 15 states, prompting the recall. Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper tells WSB-TV Georgia grown cucumbers are safe from the bacteria. The department is inspecting retailers who received the recalled products to ensure public safety.
