Later than usual, gas prices begin seasonal climb

Gas prices are creeping back up just in time for the busy summer driving season – and are four cents a gallon higher in Hall County and the state this week. The national average for a gallon of regular is also up four cents from last week, to $3.17, as the price of crude oil rises and demand goes up.

The average in Hall County as well as the state is $2.92, according to AAA.

Typically, the seasonal increase in gas prices starts earlier in the spring, but lower crude oil prices so far this year have kept that from happening. Now, AAA says, we’re starting to settle into a more typical pattern.
