A recent report by LendingTree reveals that the cost of raising a small child in the U.S. has surged to nearly $30,000 annually, with expenses for day care, food, and health care on the rise. The average cost of raising a child has increased by almost 36% in just two years. Georgia parents spend an average of a little over $19,000 annually on child-rearing expenses, with day care being the largest single cost. While federal tax credits have decreased, families in states like Hawaii face total child-rearing expenses exceeding $300,000 over 18 years, highlighting the financial strain on parents nationwide.
