Jurors from Hall Co. to hear case against Apalachee shooter’s father

A jury from Hall County will hear the case against the father of Colt Gray, who has been charged with the mass shooting at Apalachee High School last fall. Colin Gray has been charged with giving his son the gun used in the shooting that left two teachers and two students dead, and several others at the school wounded.

Barrow County Superior Court Judge Nicholas Primm had approved a change of venue a few weeks ago but reserved at the time a ruling on whether the trial itself would be moved or whether a jury from another area brought to Barrow County to hear the case.

Monday, he ordered that the trial be held in Winder but that the jury be selected from Hall County residents. Defense attorneys had asked for the change of venue because extensive publicity, candlelight vigils, etc. in Barrow County surrounding the incident.

A trial date has not been set.
