January events at Brenau

Brenau University has two art exhibits on tap in January and has lined up the speaker for the annual convocation honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.:

  • Artist Melissa Huang will present her solo show Body Cloud in the Leo Castelli Gallery beginning Thursday, Jan. 11. Huang’s glitch-inspired paintings and video works explore the polarity between her true self and an idealized image. Opening reception and artist talk  5-7 p.m. on Jan. 11.   • Los Angeles artist Paul Paiement’s Nexus 2.0 will open in Sellars Gallery on Thursday, Jan. 18. The exhibit showcases his contemporary, multimedia and installation works. Opening reception and artist talk 5-7 p.m. on Jan. 18. Free and open to the public. More details here.
  • Emmy-award winner and author Jeffrey Blount will be the speaker for our annual spring formal convocation honoring Martin Luther King, Jr. The convocation is Thursday, Jan. 18, at 12:45 p.m. in Pearce Auditorium. We have opened this event to the public for 2024.
