‘It is a deeply critical hour ‘

“Sirens are sounding across the Holy Land. Families are taking cover. Soldiers are being called to duty. It is a deeply critical hour,” begins a message from a Gainesville Rabbi announcing a special meeting Saturday in the wake of the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Iran this week..

“In Israel, people are being told not to go to (synagogue) for safety…we have the opportunity and the responsibility to fill our (synagogues) with prayer, with presence, and with purpose. Let’s show up for our brothers and sisters” Rabbi Nechemia Gurevitz continues.

What Rabbi Gurevitz is planning is a meeting Saturday morning at the Gainesville Civic Center, 10:00-12:30, followed by a Kiddish lunch.

“We will come together to lift our voices in prayer for peace, for protection, and for miracles.”
