*A former U.S. Senator from Georgia is going to co-chair the inaugural committee for Donald Trump. Kelly Loeffler has been named to help kick off the next Trump presidency, while she remains a potential member of his next administration. She was initially appointed to the Senate seat by Gov. Brian Kemp after Johnny Isakson stepped down but then lost in her first election attempt to hold on to the post.
*A Georgia man is receiving punishment for threatening to murder Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. The 34-year-old was sentenced last week for calling her office in Washington in late 2023. A judge gave him credit for time served already, but also three years of supervised release. He initially faced five years in prison.
