HCSO: Team investigation nets 2 arrests, $15k+ in illegal drugs

Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) and Lanier Drug Task Force investigators seized drugs, including fentanyl, and charged two people with drug trafficking offenses during a joint investigation in Oakwood this week.

They arrested Ricky Lee Blackwell, 39, and Lauren Rutledge, 32, both of Oakwood, during a raid on a room at the Jameson Inn.

“Investigators confiscated approximately 64 grams of fentanyl and roughly 60 grams of methamphetamine during the Wednesday afternoon…effort,” HCSO spokesman Derreck Booth said. “The estimated combined street value of the drugs is $15,515.”

Blackwell and Rutledge are charged with one count each of trafficking fentanyl and trafficking methamphetamine. Both remained jailed without bond at mid-afternoon Friday.
