HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NARRATIVE:

“Just after 2 p.m., Sunday…deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to a residence on Vista Glen Drive in Flowery Branch after one of the victims called 911 asking for help.

The preliminary investigation determined the suspect, identified as Billy Kenneth Patterson, and the two adult victims first became involved in a verbal argument over the lack of groceries in the home. The suspect and the victims live together in the residence.

As the argument escalated, Mr. Patterson slapped the female victim in the face, leaving visible red marks. When the adult male victim intervened, Mr. Patterson punched him. During the physical scuffle, Mr. Patterson pulled a 45-caliber handgun and pointed it at both victims, threatening to shoot them. The victims were able to disarm Mr. Patterson and distance themselves from him prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

Mr. Patterson was arrested at the scene on two counts of felony aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act (FVA), felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, misdemeanor simply battery FVA and misdemeanor battery FVA….”
