HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) NEWS RELEASE:
*Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Criminal Investigations Bureau
(CIB) continue their investigation into the death of a 31-year-old man whose body was
discovered in the roadway of a Gainesville neighborhood over the weekend.
HCSO deputies responded to the intersection of McConnell Drive and Mount Crest Drive
just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday…after a 911 caller reported hearing a crash and
then finding the unresponsive victim in the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the
scene. His body has been transported for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
At this point in the investigation, it is unclear if a vehicle struck the victim and then left the
scene or if the man collapsed and died in the roadway. All possibilities remain under
investigation. Anyone who has information in the case may call Investigator Bray at 770-
533-7813.
Investigators know the name of the victim, but his identity is being withheld until his next
of kin can be notified.
Roadways in the area remained closed for just over three hours while the investigation was
underway.”
