Deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Warrant Services Unit have arrested a Gainesville man wanted for firing a shot at a vehicle on Athens Highway last month. But deputies say the intended target is himself in jail.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“Robert Beaucaire, 26, was taken into custody at a residence on Wildflower Road in Braselton on Tuesday…on a single felony count of aggravated assault. He remains in the Hall County Jail on $5,700 bond.
The investigation determined that on the night of April 7…Mr. Beaucaire discharged a firearm from his moving vehicle in the 2100 block of Athens Highway, striking another vehicle on the roadway. Mr. Beaucaire, who knew the driver of the other vehicle, had purposely targeted the victim. One bullet struck the driver’s side rear/truck bed area of the victim’s vehicle.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from recent threats the victim had levied against two mutual acquaintances. In fact, the victim, identified as Joseph Wilton Savage, 49, of Gainesville, was arrested on April 8…several hours after the gunshot incident, and charged with two counts of terroristic threats and acts under the Family Violence Act (FVA). Mr. Savage remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.”
