As the school year draws to a close, the Hall County School District (HCSD) recently celebrated “signing days,” but these had nothing to do with sports.
Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Signing Day celebrated high school seniors from across the district who have chosen to enter the workforce immediately after graduation. This special event, modeled after athletic signing ceremonies, honors students as they commit to full-time employment with local companies that are ready to welcome them into the next phase of their careers.
Students from several high schools gathered at the ceremony with their families and future employers.
Teach for the Peach Future Educator Signing Day celebrated 20 seniors who have committed to pursuing careers in education. Family members, school officials, current educators, and representatives from five colleges and universities gathered to recognize the honorees with certificates, school gear, and heartfelt words of encouragement.
Students signed symbolic letters with Brenau University, Georgia Gwinnett College, Georgia Southern, Lanier Technical College, Shorter University, Toccoa Falls College and the University of North Georgia. Many were also recognized for participating in teacher internship programs through Work-Based Learning and CTAE pathway programs like Teaching as a Profession.
