HALL CO. NEWS RELEASE:
“In an effort to provide citizens with services seven days a week, Hall County Government has adjusted all weekday community center hours to accommodate Sunday openings.
“Beginning Monday, July 7, citizens will have access to Hall County’s three community centers every day of the week,” Board of Commissioners Chairman David Gibbs said. “We, as a Board, approved this change following community input and a thorough review, in recommendation by parks staff. It’s always a win for us as public servants to be able to extend County services for the betterment of our citizens and visitors, so we are happy to have implemented this change and hope the community will take advantage of these new hours.”
Hall County Parks and Leisure staff have spent several weeks analyzing community center usage in order to ensure the changes were both practical and responsive to community needs. Staff studied foot-traffic patterns at each facility, as well as staffing needs to operate seven days a week with minimal impact on the County budget.
“Based on our findings, Parks and Leisure staff recommended that community centers close one hour earlier Monday through Friday. This will allow us to maintain efficient operations by transferring those lost hours onto Sunday, while enhancing accessibility for the community,” Hall County Parks and Community Services Director Brent Holloway said.
Effective July 7, the new community center hours will be as follows:
Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.Saturday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 to 6 p.m.
The community centers are located at:
East Hall Community Center: 3911 P Davidson Road, Gainesville
Mulberry Creek Community Center: 4491 JM Turk Road, Flowery Branch
North Hall Community Center: 4175 Nopone Road, Gainesville
The Hall County Library System’s North Hall Tech Center, located inside the North Hall Community Center, will remain closed on Sundays; however, all other services will be open during the new weekend hours.
