Hall campaign promotes an ‘open’ Lake Lanier

“692 miles of shoreline, 15 boat ramps, 14 day use parks.”

Despite the Corps of Engineers assurances that it has backed off its declaration two days ago that the parks it operates on Lake Lanier were going to be closed this summer, there still seems to be a bit of confusion, based on social media comments on just what’s going on. And Hall County officials have initiated a “Lake Lanier. We’re Open” campaign on social media.

“Despite reports of park closures along Lake Lanier, Hall County parks are OPEN and READY for Memorial Day fun!” a Facebook posting Thursday declared. “And a website devoted to the issue has been created.”

“For more info, up-to-date park statuses and where to launch your boat this weekend, visit LakeLanierisOpen.com,” the posting says. #wereopen #lakelanier #hallcounty #hallcountyga #hallcountyparks

Forsyth County has been trying to get the same message across regarding the parks on the lake that it operates.

All of this coming just one day before a lot of people will be headed this way for the start of the long Memorial Day Weekend.
