A Gainesville woman tells Hall County investigators she lost $300 recently to an online extortionist.
“This report was filed…by a woman who says she sent a photo of her face to someone on a social media platform,” a Hall County sheriff’s spokeswoman said Thursday morning. “That person edited it to make it pornographic. She paid $300 after the person threatened to send the photo to her contacts.”
The sheriff’s office says it has no suspects at this time.
