Gville Trolley back & with expanded fleet, route

Gainesville’s trolley service, operated by Hall Area Transit (HAT), has returned for the summer season and with an expanded fleet and route.

“HAT is thrilled to share we are shortening the Glenwood/Riverside route to make it more efficient and we have created a brand-new Fair Street route,” said Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center Director Phillippa Lewis Moss, who oversees HAT.

“We are looking forward to continuing this successful offering and connecting even more people to the City’s thriving and vibrant downtown, which has become a popular destination for many in North Georgia.”

On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from through Sept. 6, you can catch the trolley or shuttle 5:30 p.m.- 10 p.m. in these neighborhoods:

TROLLEY NO. 1: Dixon neighborhood

Along the Dixon route, and after the first pick-up at Kilwins, riders can board the Gainesville Trolley at Bradford Street and Forrest Avenue, Bradford Street and North Avenue, Bradford Street and Ridgewood Avenue, Bradford Street and Oak Shire Court, Bradford Street and Dixon Drive, Dixon Drive and Chestatee Road, Piedmont and Wessell roads, Piedmont Road and Tanglewood Drive, Piedmont Road and Bradford Street, and Green Street Circle and Longview Avenue, before returning to Kilwins.

  • Runs 5:30-10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday
    *The first pick-up occurs at 5:30 p.m. in front of Kilwins (106 Spring St. SE) in the Gainesville Renaissance development on the historic square in downtown Gainesville. The last pick-up occurs at 9:30 p.m. in the same location.

Along the Glenwood/Riverside route, and after the first pick-up at Kilwins, riders can board the Gainesville Trolley at Prior and Washington streets, Simmons Hall on Prior Street, Alpha Chi Omega on Prior Street, Prior and Park streets, Memorial Drive and Cherokee Road, Memorial and Park Hill drives, Park Hill Drive and Cherokee Road, Park Hill and Chattahoochee drives, Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County on Riverside Drive, Park Hill Place and Memorial Drive, Park Hill Drive and Cherokee Road, Park Hill Drive and Chattahoochee Drive, Park Hill Place and Springdale Road, Glenwood Drive and Laurel Lane, Chattahoochee Drive and Cherokee Road, Cherokee Road and Memorial Drive, Prior and Candler streets and the Phi Mu House on Prior Street.
