A Gainesville man ended up in jail following a quick trip to the hospital which followed a Sunday night accident on Browns Bridge Road that closed the road for a time. It happened about 10:15.
GEORGIA STATE PATROL (GSP) NARRATIVE:
“…a trooper from GSP-Gainesville responded to the area of SR 369 (Browns Bridge Rd) and Fincher Drive in Hall County to investigate a one-vehicle traffic crash.
The investigation determined that Jose I Lopez-Lopez, 42, of Gainesville was driving a Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Browns Bridge Rd when he failed to maintain his lane, traveled off the roadway onto the north shoulder, and struck a culvert. After striking the culvert, the Silverado overturned and came to rest in the westbound lane. The roadway was closed for approximately one hour for the investigation and cleanup.
Mr. Lopez-Lopez was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries and then taken to the Hall County Jail. He was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, No Seatbelt, and (DUI).”
