*Some Georgia doctors are reporting confusion and hesitation when it comes to treating pregnant mothers and their unborn children. In Georgia, women cannot receive an elective abortion after fetal cardiac activity is detected with exceptions made for cases of rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is in danger. Athens-based OB-GYN Dr. Lara Hart tells ANF some doctors wonder, “how sick is sick enough to intervene?” But State Senator Ed Setzler believes the law is clear for physicians using logic and reasoning to uphold their oath to do no harm.
