*Big headache Sunday for passengers at the Atlanta airport. The FAA is blaming runway equipment problems for a massive ground-stop Sunday at Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta. It started about 10:30 yesterday morning and by 4:30pm the airport listing over 400 incoming flights as delayed. That’s 33% of incoming flights. Flight Aware data shows over 350 departures also delayed in that time frame. No word late Sunday on the nature of that runway equipment or how it caused problems. But some reports say it’s related to air traffic control.

*Columbia County is transitioning to a single-county public library system, sparking controversy over book classification and placement policies. The decision to withdraw from the regional library system has led to protests by the Freedom to Read Coalition, who claim the policies amount to a book ban. The Augusta Chronicle reports County Manager Scott Johnson defended the guidelines as focusing on book placement rather than censorship, citing the need for local control over library operations. The move to a self-contained system aims to prevent outside influence on library policies, with similar single-county systems in neighboring counties like Richmond County.

*Insurance Commissioner John King is launching his campaign for U.S. Senate on Monday, the AJC reports. King, the first Hispanic elected to statewide political office on Georgia, is aiming to bridge the divide between the party’s more establishment wing and the Donald Trump loyalists who dominate the GOP base, the newspaper report says.
