A visitor at Lanier Islands Resort was uninjured after she crashed a golf cart through a set of French doors at the resort hotel over the weekend.
An 84-year-old woman from Alabama, who was attending a family reunion at the resort, was operating the vehicle in the area of the hotel just after 1 p.m. Saturday when she reported the brakes on the golf cart were not working properly, according to a Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) report released Tuesday. The report says she attempted to swerve to avoid people who were walking in the area when she struck the doors and entered the hotel, coming to a stop only after she hit a wall.
In addition to damaging the doorframe, the crash also damaged two chairs at the facility.
