GIAA Match Up – Lakeview Academy Lions Looking for 5-1 in Region

Posted by Nathan Latty on October 17, 2024 in High School Sports

This week, on Friday Night Football in North Georgia, Team Glory Sports brings you a GIAA private school showdown, as the Athens Christian Eagles come to Gainesville to battle the Lakeview Academy Lions.

The Lions have made history this year, falling only to Bethlehem Christian Academy this season. The team is 7-1 overall, and 2nd in the region at 4-1.

Meanwhile, the Eagles enter the game at 3-5 on the season, and 5th in the region at 2-3. They come into this series following losses to George Walton Academy, Bethlehem Christian Academy, and The Kings Academy.

One More Win to Make History

Mike Wofford spoke with Coach Lee Coleman of Lakeview Academy and discussed the importance of this week’s game. “The Season has been going well. We’re 7-1… it could be a historic moment…[the] school has never won eight games in program history.”

The regular season comes to a close for the home team next week, after battling the Loganville Christian Academy Lions. They will most likely play at home again on November 8th, in the first round of the state playoffs.

Where to Listen:

Mike’s interview with Coach Coleman can be heard on ‘Game Plan – A Look at High School Football in North Georgia’, which begins at 6:05pm.
