GHCC’s agribusiness awards recipients

 Annual Agribusiness Awards were recently presented by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s (GHCC) annual awards breakfast. 

2025 Agribusiness Award Winners:

Friends of Agriculture

Randall and Denise Conner

Randall and Denise Conner are the recipients of the 2025 Friend of Agriculture Award. The Conners have spent a large portion of their life making an impact in agriculture, and for many years, have inspired youth in the county who show an interest in agriculture.  Randall Conner was the first ever recipient of the American FFA degree from North Hall High School, the highest honor an individual in the program can achieve. Since then, the Conners have made a significant impact with youth participating in Hall County FFA chapters, and have continued to inspire youth in the county who will no doubt be future leaders in agriculture.

Agribusinessman of the Year

Nath Morris

Nath Morris is the recipient of the 2025 Agribusinessman of the Year Award.  He grew up in a poultry family in Georgia and has gained an extensive background in the industry throughout his career. His broad body of work in the poultry industry includes USPOULTRY, a U.S. Sales Manager at Perdue Farms/Heritage Breeders, Territory Manager at Arbor Acres Farms/Aviagen, Territory Manager at Meyn USA, and QA Manager at Seaboard Farms of Athens. He is currently serving as President of the U.S Poultry & Egg Association. He served on the Hall County School board for 24 years and has served as President of the Georgia School Board Association executive committee.

Farmer of the Year

Jerry Truelove, Truelove Dairy Farm

Jerry Trulove has farmed in Hall County his entire life and was selected for the 2025 Farmer of the Year. Since his father, Elmer Trulove, started their farm in 1926, Jerry has grown up milking cows, raising livestock, producing hay, alfalfa, and field corn. Through the years, he has continued to be an individual that the Hall County farming community can lean on. He has served as President of the Hall County Farm Bureau for 10 years and continues to make an impact in agriculture throughout Hall County every day.

Agribusiness Hall of Fame

Johnny Vardeman

Johnny Vardeman was inducted into the 2025 Agriculture Hall of Fame. He was nominated for this prestigious award by multiple farmers in the Hall County community because of the incredible work that he has done to tell the story of agriculture over his career and preserving the history of agriculture in Hall County.  He began his career with The Gainesville Times in 1957, most of which was spent in a managing editor role. Through his career he covered pivotal moments in Hall County, including the rise of the poultry industry. After his retirement in the late 90’s, he has continued as a (columnist) for The Times. Throughout his career he has compiled an extraordinary body of work preserving the history of Hall County, and in many cases stories of agriculture in the county.

Agribusiness Hall of Fame

Jim Henderson

Jim Henderson, a Hall County Farmer, was selected to the 2025 Agriculture Hall of Fame to recognize decades of leadership in the agricultural community. During his farming career he has served as President of Hall County Farm Bureau, served the Cattlemen’s Association in Hall, Jackson, and Banks County, and served on the Georgia Beef Board. Additionally, he has served on the Chicopee Woods Advisory Board, the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospital Authority, and the Hall County Tax Assessor Board.
