Forsyth County Parks and Recreation and Hall County officials issued statements Tuesday night on the parks situation following reports earlier in the day that Corps of Engineers parks on Lake Lanier are being closed.
In both instances, it was emphasized that lake parks in county operated by those counties are open.
FORSYTH RESPONSE :
“Lake parks (in Forsyth) are OPEN and ready for your next summer adventure!,” officials declared.

County officials had been notified Tuesday morning that parks operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Lake Lanier (Tidwell, Little Ridge, Two Mile Creek, Vanns Tavern Park, Keith Bridge, Long Hollow, and West Bank Parks), separate from the county’s parks on the lake, may be closing indefinitely.
“County officials and staff are actively working with the Corps of Engineers on potential solutions for keeping open, or reopening, their parks/boat ramps.
“More information will provided as available.”
AND HALL COUNTY’S RESPONSE:
“Yes, Hall County-operated parks are OPEN!
Despite any reports you may have heard regarding the closure of certain U.S. Army Corps of Engineers day-use parks along Lake Sidney Lanier, please note that parks operated by Hall County Parks and Leisure remain OPEN and UNAFFECTED.
