Fewer inmates for Gville RYDC?; NE Ga. school raises $10M; High marks for Gville restaurant by Yelp

*Plans are in the works for a Regional Youth Development Center (RYDC) in Gwinnett County. Since the old Gwinnett RYDC closed ten years ago, juveniles from the county charged with a crime have been boarded-out to the Gainesville facility and others in the Atlanta area. But some have ended up being sent to the one in Dalton. Right now, planning for a Gwinnett facility is just beginning. The state has not even allocated funding for such a project.

*Two Hall County residents and one from Habersham County were directly involved in the recent successful campaign to raise $10 million for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School’s planned renovation and restoration of Hodgson Hall.  They are Steve Gilliam and Dr. Kate Maine of Gainesville and John Barnwell of Clarkesville.
