Federal grant to be used to build new trail near Lake Lanier

Forsyth County will use a federal grant to construct a new multi-use trail near Lake Lanier. It will be built along Shady Grove and Shadburn Ferry roads.

The amount of the grant is five million dollars, and the money comes from the Federal Lands Access Program. Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP) | FHWA

That program’s purpose is to improve transportation facilities that provide access to federal lands, such as that that borders Lake Lanier.
