HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:
At approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, an HCSO Traffic/H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit deputy stopped an eastbound car for speeding near Marina Drive. After speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests.
While the deputy was placing the driver, Jeffrey Curtis Reddish, 34, of Gainesville, under arrest for DUI, he (Reddish) ran off on foot across all four lanes of Ga. 53 to the westbound shoulder. The deputy deployed his Taser, which was ineffective. Reddish kept running, falling several times as he went down a hill near Sportsman Club Road. The deputy, with assistance from a Georgia State Patrol Trooper, then apprehended Reddish without further incident.
Hall County Fire Rescue responded and medically cleared Reddish, who suffered a small laceration to his head when he fell while running.
The deputy charged/cited Reddish for the following misdemeanor offenses.
- Obstruction of an officer
- DUI – alcohol
- Pedestrian under the influence of alcohol
- Speeding
- License – notice of change of address
Reddish was booked into the Hall County Jail. He posted $3,540 bond and was released on Wednesday night…”
