Drought conditions have returned to Georgia, according to the latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM). But so far, our area has been spared.
Thursday’s report shows portions of Cobb, Fulton and DeKalb counties are classified as “Abnormally Dry.”
This comes following several weeks of drought-free reports for the state.
The affected areas this week make up less than two percent of Georgia.
What about the level of Lake Lanier? It was 1071.8 as of Thursday morning. That’s almost a foot above summertime full pool of 1071 and it has shown little movement over the past week.
