There’s a write-up in the current edition of Georgia Trend magazine about an organization in Habersham County devoted to documenting the history of Habersham County in digitized format.
“We’re all about preserving the rich history of Habersham County. All of our programs are available online so that they are accessible to everyone, 24/7, anywhere in the world,” founder and President Peter Madruga, tells the magazine’s Candice Dyer.
Since Digitize Habersham launched in 2022, the group has digitized more than 90,000 pages of Habersham County newspapers dating back to 1857. The newspaper pages can be searched by dates and keywords.
