GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVES:
“On April 15, 2024 at 8:00 AM, Troopers responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of State Route 11 (SR 11) and John B Brooks Rd in Jackson County, GA.
Upon arrival, preliminary investigations revealed that a black Chrysler 200 traveling north on SR 11 attempted to make a left turn onto John B Brooks Rd, failing to yield the right of way. Subsequently, a white Ford F-250 traveling south on SR 11 collided with the passenger-side of the Chrysler.
Both vehicles traveled off the roadway onto the west shoulder, where the Chrysler came to a rest on its wheels, while the Ford overturned onto its roof.
The front right-seat passenger in the Chrysler sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with critical injuries. The driver of the Ford received minor injuries and did not require transportation to a medical facility.
The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is assisting in the investigation, and charges against the driver of the Chrysler are pending further investigation.”
“On April 16, 2024, at 8:10 am, Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Turkey Crest Rd and GA 15 (US 441) in Habersham County.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a Ford Escape was stopped at the intersection of Turkey Crest Road and GA 15 (US 441). Meanwhile, a Tractor Trailer was traveling northbound on GA 15 in the right travel lane. The driver of the Ford failed to yield while entering the roadway and the Tractor Trailer collided with the front side of the Ford Escape.
Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest together on GA 15 as a result of the impact. Emergency medical services responded promptly to the scene, and the driver of the Ford was airlifted for suspected serious injuries.
The Georgia State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.”
