Farah named Interim FBHS principal

Hall County School Supt. Will Schofield announced Tuesday his intent to recommend Joey Farah as Interim Principal of Flowery Branch High School (FBHS). The recommendation will be made at Monday’s, school board meeting.

Farah, who currently serves as Assistant Principal for CTAE (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education) at the school, will assume the responsibilities held by current Principal Dr. Jason Carter, who has been selected to serve as Director of Secondary Education.

Farah brings 19 years of experience in education to his role, having served in a variety of
instructional and leadership positions. He began his career at Parkview High School as a special
education and marketing education teacher, while also coaching softball and baseball for 12
years. He continued teaching and coaching at Mill Creek High School before moving into
administration in 2017 as an assistant principal at Apalachee High School.

For the past five years, he has served as an assistant principal over CTAE at Flowery Branch High School. Farah has been recognized statewide for his contributions to education, earning honors such as
Georgia Marketing Administrator of the Year (2022), Administrator of the Year for the
Technology Student Association (2023), and being named a finalist for Georgia Administrator of
the Year by Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (2024).
