Award of a contract for the construction of an interchange on Georgia 365 at YMCA Drive north of Gainesville has been deferred by the state Department of Transportation (GDOT) Board of Directors.
No reason was given for the decision but in recent months inflation has been listed as one cause for deferments.
The March bid awards did include one Gainesville area project: a three-million-dollar roundabout on Georgia 9 at Bannister Road, spanning Dawson and Forsyth counties.
The latest round of contract awards included eleven for work statewide valued at about $51.1 million.
